The number one excuse hundreds of women have when asked if they got around to checking off the “go to the gym” resolution on their list is: “I don’t really have time to go to the gym.”
This year, make no excuses and delve into high intensity interval training (HIIT). HIIT is ideal for the busy work woman who doesn’t have time to get to the gym or stay at the gym for a long period of time. A HIIT workout can last from 20-30 minutes and can be done during your lunch break.
HIIT, or High Intensity Interval Training, is an innovative way to burn more fat and calories and lose weight without spending a lot of time doing cardio. HIIT allows you to target and give those vital cardiovascular organs and body muscles quick jolts of energy over fixed periods of time. For example, the high intensity of your workout could be in the form of jumping rope at a very fast past for 5 minutes straight, recovery jog for 2 minutes to slow the heart rate then back to jumping rope to speed it back up. This helps the body burn more calories even after the workout is complete. Statistics have shown that women are more inclined to lose body fat in hard places quicker with HIIT than regular cardio and that the fat stays off longer. Because HIIT is so intense in energy, it is wise to consult a doctor before participating if you have troubles with breathing, heart problems, or if you are extremely overweight.
Don’t let time be another reason why you don’t “get around” to being the healthiest you can be. Try HIIT and tell us what you’re experience was like!
