There aren’t too many things that are more embarrassing than large circles of sweat stains or a long trail of sweat leading down the front of your shirt. For some, excessive perspiration or hyperhidrosis is a major problem and it gets worse in the summer months. If you suffer from this then you know that packing on layers of deodorant doesn’t help and it is more than inconvenient to take multiple showers during the day. Beyond general sweating, sweaty palms are another particularly troublesome aspect of hyperhidrosis. Whether you’re at work or meeting someone new, constantly dealing with damp hands can lead to discomfort and even anxiety. Fortunately, there are ways to manage and stop sweaty palms from disrupting your life, ranging from natural remedies to more advanced medical treatments.
Perspiration releases the body’s heat and toxins in liquid form. To reduce heavy sweating, it’s necessary to regulate the amount of toxins we put into our bodies and decrease the amount of body heat we produce.
There are several homemade remedies you can try to get your pits under control. Here are our recommendations:
Apple Cider Vinegar
It seems like apple cider vinegar can be used to do virtually anything. Take two washcloths soaked in vinegar and hold them under each arm pit for twenty minutes. Then wash with warm water. This will reduce body heat and get rid of odors.
Sage
Drink two to four cups of sage tea daily. This is supposed to calm the body and keep it cool, thus reducing the amount of sweat your body produces.
For further control of heavy sweating, consider eliminating or reducing alcohol and stress in your life.
Daiquiri Don’t
Minimize alcohol intake and avoid tobacco products as well as anything caffeinated. These things cause increased body heat. Even worse, they just add extra toxins to the body.
Stop Stressing
Just like with most things, stress is an agitator. Stress raises blood levels and increases body heat. Consider trying yoga to calm down.
