Ladies, you know what’s better than a cool summer drink? A cool summer drink without the next day hangover. That’s right, with these four easy recipes you could be relaxing on those hot, sweltering days, sipping on a mai tai without having to worry about a headache, sour stomach, or readed dragon breath. If you’re starting a family and can’t have a drink but miss it oh so much, these recipes are all alcohol free and safe for you and your baby.
If you happen to be adventurous then this is the drink for you; I am all about new experiences and learning new cultures so, when I saw this recipe I just had to try it out.
Exotic Thai Iced tea
- 6 cups of water
- 5 Thai red tea bags
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
Boil the water and steep the tea bags; when the tea is a dark orange color remove the bags and chill. When it’s cold add 6-8 tablespoons of the condensed milk; serve iced. This drink is slightly creamy with a spicy kick; I love that it’s both healthy and refreshing.
Fruitie Smoothie
- 1 cup frozen fruit
- 2 cups milk or cold water
- sugar to taste
- vanilla to taste
Combine the frozen fruit and milk or water; blend until smooth and there are no chunks of fruit. Add vanilla and sugar to taste. If you like a creamier drink use the milk; but if you are lactose intolerant then using water is just as good. Because of the fruit this drink is a bit filling so go easy on these if you plan on enjoying appetizers.
Summer Spritzer
- Your favorite fruit Juice
- Bubbly mineral water or seltzer
This drink is the easiest and the least time-consuming to make. Just mix your favorite fruit Juice ( I’d recommend pineapple juice) and the seltzer or bubbly mineral water and you’ve got yourself a refreshing drink with a kick. I could and did drink a whole pitcher of these since it’s like drinking a soda but uber healthy for you especially if you use the mineral water.
La Aqua Fresca
- 4 cups water
- 2 cups fresh fruit
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tsps. lemon or lime
To really wow your guests or to simply impress your own taste buds grab a blender and combine the water and fruit. Puree until smooth; pour mixture through a sieve into a pitcher or serving container. Stir in lemon or lime juice and sugar then serve cold. If you didn’t make this drink yourself you’d swear it had alcohol in it. This drink is definitely going to cool you down and give you a little kick.
