July 4-7

This four-day party is one you definitely do not want to miss.  ESSENCE Magazine has consistently hosted one of the best music festivals for African Americans and the event continues to grow every year. For just a few days, New Orleans is flooded with the best musicians, speakers and celebrities for a festival that is sure to be worth your money. Artists like Janelle Monae, Solange, and Trey Songz are just a few headliners for all-day music in the Superdome. King Bey herself is set for that Sunday night. Grab a ticket and start craving a po’boy, the Essence Festival is where it’s at.

August 2-4

Head to Chi Town for a perfect ending to your summer at Lollapalooza. Traditionally a music festival for indie rock and alternative music, Lolla has evolved into a place for all types of music lovers. This year’s lineup boasts artists like Azealia Banks, Kendrick Lamar and Angel Haze. Take advantage of all the city has to offer during the music festival by roaming around downtown between shows. Tap into your inner hippy chick and purchase your ticket. The Windy City is sure not to disappoint.
