“If the culture is not it, you have to quit.”
Has anyone ever told you this? Just like vlogger With Love, Trish says in her video, we wish someone had told us this secret life code upon graduating from college. In one of her recent videos on her channel, Trish discusses why getting what seems like your dream job might not be all it’s cracked up to be. The “people” that you work with and the beliefs that they have can often times trump a hefty salary and benefits in the long run. If you often find yourself stressed out by the things that your colleagues say and do, then that is a sign that your authentic self is not in line with the situation you are currently “existing” in.
For Trish, a lack of workplace diversity and commitment to nurture the growth of young professionals pushed her to make the decision to quit her job and look into new opportunities.
“If the people suck, if they don’t invest in your development, and if they make you feel THIS small, quit and run as fast as you can.”
Listen to her story to find out what key internal and external things to look for to determine if it’s time for you to start working on your two week’s notice.
