Finally the holiday season is here and what better way to celebrate the new year then with a fabulous bottle of sparkling wine! People around the globe will be drinking something bubbly and depending on where you are, you may be drinking Champagne, Cava, or Prosecco. Luckily for me and you, in the United States we have access to all three! So when you are on the wine aisle and trying to decide on which sparkling’s to un-cork here are a few recommendations to consider.
Duval Leroy Champagne (Design Paris Brut) – As with many sparkling wines, this phenomenal sparkler is actually from the region of Champagne which is located in northern France and only sparkling’s produced in this region can be legally called Champagne. Besides, the beautiful packaging this exotic blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay displays aromas of white flowers, honey-suckle, apricot, and hazelnuts. Love this quality sparkling for under $25!
Raventos i Blanc – Cava is Spain’s traditional sparkling wine, produced mainly in the Penedes region in northeastern Spain. Most people like cavas for their straightforward flavors and long-lasting bubbles. This rose pink in color, medium bodied sparkler, has rich flavors of red fruits such as cherries and strawberries. The finish is clean and crisp and invites another sip. Love this sparkling for under $20!
LaMarca Prosecco – An increasingly popular alternative to Champagne, and has become Italy’s answer to refreshing, well-made sparkling wine at a reasonable price. Your palate will enjoy subtle hints of fresh peach, pears, and ripe apples. Perfect for New Years Day brunch or as an aperitif. Love this value sparkling for around $15!
