Have You Given Up Yet?

I hope the answer is no. Actually I know it’s no. You’re not the type of person who goes down for the count that easily. You’re the type of woman who fights for what she wants, hustles like it’s no one’s business, and will do whatever it takes to make her dreams come through.

You’re a cat on a hot tin roof.

“But one thing I don’t have is the charm of the defeated, my hat is still in the ring, and I am determined to win!”

We’re halfway through the year. Months away from those original goals you set. Those promises you made to yourself to give up those carbs in order to fit into your yellow polka-dot bikini by summer. Those boasts you shared at the dinner table to finally audition for that dance squad you’ve been dreaming about. We are in that present moment where we begin to reflect on how far we’ve come…and how far we have to go.

Are you holding yourself accountable? Have you stuck to your plans? Are you disciplining yourself? Are you making each day worthy?

Many of your friends fell off that bandwagon months ago. You’ll have noticed by March that the gym looked a little thinner than it did on January 2nd. Or that blogs started in vain only bear a publication date that’s as stale as expired frozen bagels in the back of your refrigerator.

But I know you haven’t. Because you believe in putting power into each day. You believe in serving others but more importantly serving yourself first so you are efficiently able to care for the world.

And it’s okay if you did. You know…forgot to read that book weekly or follow that toning routine. We all get a little sidetracked sometimes and life often throws unexpected things our way. What matters is that there’s that someone, that voice, that spirit that picks you right back up where you left off and steers you back into the right lane.

Well, here’s that push if you needed it. You’ve got 180 more days to make this year rock. Now go show the world all the hot stuff that you’re made of, mama.
